Initial Poster Research

Below are some examples of posters that I believe to be very interesting designs which I came across through my research. I believe that the most successful poster designs are ones that catch the eye of the audience in order to get a message across. With that being said, I also believe that it is extremely important for a poster to clearly promote whatever message, object, event etc. it is aiming to. When looking through different existing posters, I found that my attention tended to be drawn to the most unique and unusual posters, however sometimes trying to create a poster that is very unique will make it hard to get across a clear message as seen in some of the examples below.

Poster 1:
I believe that this poster is a very successful one due to it clearly getting its message across despite the simplicity of it. Often a simple poster can be more eye catching than a very complex poster because of how well it gets across a message, especially when the message is such an important one. This specific poster clearly shows the belief of the designer which seems to be that 'what goes around comes around' especially with firearms- one killing will lead to another.

Poster 2:
This is another example of a poster which presents its important message but within this poster it is done through both image and additional text. This i used to make messages within posters that much clearer. However, I believe that this poster would not be eye catching enough without the very powerful image of the hand at the bottom of the page.

Poster 3:
This is a very captivating poster purely because of the unique and eye catching design. However, the message behind the poster is unclear. I believe that if a poster isn't promoting what it is aiming to then there is no point of having a poster at all. When looking at the poster for while however, at the bottom is the website for what is being promoted.

Poster 4:
This is another poster that shows a clear message through simplicity and is effective because of it. Although it is very eye catching and a little bit plain, the design itself is very clever and reflects the message that is shown through text very well.
